About Flossonic

How can a toothbrush possibly FLOSS teeth?

The Flossonic toothbrush head has thin perimeter bristles which flare outwards in order to get into the inter dental spaces, just like floss does.

The brush head of the flossonic toothbrush has been designed to vibrate at more than 30,000 brush strokes per minute along a defined axis. This vibratory motion is able to impart energy to the fluids that surround teeth (such as saliva and toothpaste) and create turbulent fluid dynamics near the tips of its bristles.

The result is the creation of waves of pressure and shear forces in the liquids around the teeth, and also the creation of minute bubbles that are propelled forcefully against surfaces where plaque resides.

The combination of these various fluid dynamics results in forces that are capable of dislodging dental plaque in those hard to reach areas such as between teeth and below the gum line. The cleaning effect of these fluid forces has been independently* measured to occur at distances of up to 4 millimeters beyond where the bristles of the flossonic toothbrush actually touch.

The thin filaments on the flossonic brush head work in tandem with the principles of fluid dynamics to clean even areas that conventional floss could not reach. Thin filaments vibrate along a defined axis, penetrate the gaps between the teeth and activated fluid and bubbles are put to work to floss and clean the teeth.

Why is Flossing such a big deal?

Dental Clinicians estimate that over 40% of dental disease could be prevented by flossing and good oral care. Most people do not floss because it is tedious, hard to do well and can make your gums bleed.

Toothbrush bristles only make contact with 60% of exposed teeth surfaces. So cleaning can only happen where the bristles can reach and physically SCRUB teeth.

Imagine having a shower and only cleaning 60% of your body and leaving the other 40% dirty! What would happen to that 40% after a few weeks, months or even years?

Why not clean 100% of your teeth surfaces by brushing and flossing at the same time with the Flossonic Toothbrush?
